Starting in 2023, the lab began proudly offering opportunities for high school and undergraduate students to engage in supervised summer research. Students who are interested in our research and committed to dedicating at least 30 hours per week for 2 months during the summer are encouraged to contact the PI.
Our students have remarkable accomplishments:
2023
Tsai-Wei Chang, National Yang-Ming University.
Vivian Lai, National Yang-Ming University.
Eitel Geltser, Cherry Creek High School.
This trio collaborated as a team and successfully published a paper on spermine mechanisms in the Journal of Biological Chemistry in 2025. Link.
2024
Henry Yang, National Yang-Ming University.
Yu-Yo Liu, National Yang-Ming University.
Yu-Yo and Henry conducted extensive analyses of uniporter inhibitors and activators. Their findings will inform future drug development and contribute to an upcoming publication.
2025
Yu-Chen Huang, National Yang-Ming University.
Wei-Chen Chen, National Yang-Ming University.
Yu-Chen and Wei-Chen characterized the function of a mitochondrial calcium uniporter subunit, and their findings are expected to be published in a Nature Communications article in 2026.
